First In

I welcome you to my blog site; I hope to show you the fire service in NLC in some interesting events. During the next few years, I will improve on the content and photos to keep you coming back for more. I take pride in my photography and try my best to be first in when possible. The majority of the photos will be from the Norwich companies & surrounding area departments, but sometimes I Buff out of state cities for a change of pace.

As of late I have missed or worked a lot of the incidents. I have a great support group of Photographers to help the site keep up with all the incidents. There are too many to list, So thanks for your support. Thanks for visiting and enjoy .RD Ladd

As of July 2017, my site has had 319000 hits thanks for viewing. If you keep coming I will keep posting. First time visitors for older post click on the month links right side.

Griswold 2nd Alarm 02-03-12

Around 21:30 Griswold, Jewett City and Lisbon fire for the tanker, was dispatched to 19 George Palmer Road for a reported house fire. First due reported a working fire. They found the 2 story section of the house with the C-D sides with heavy fire on the exterior, with active fire inside. Crews worked the two story section, the fire worked its way into the void spaces. The crews knocked down the visible fire as roof was opened up. Heavy smoke started to push from the upper void spaces and the fire jumped to the one story section attic, operations pulled everyone from the building to regroup.  Taftville vented the 2nd roof as JC and Griswold worked the space below. They confined the fire from extending further into the home and with in a short time opened all void spaces and extinguished the fire. Several departments responded for tankers and Mohegan Tribe was started as 2nd due FAST. the fire is under investigation.
