I welcome you to my blog site; I hope to show you the fire service in NLC in some interesting events. During the next few years, I will improve on the content and photos to keep you coming back for more. I take pride in my photography and try my best to be first in when possible. The majority of the photos will be from the Norwich companies & surrounding area departments, but sometimes I Buff out of state cities for a change of pace.



As of late I have missed or worked a lot of the incidents. I have a great support group of Photographers to help the site keep up with all the incidents. There are too many to list, So thanks for your support. Thanks for visiting and enjoy .RD Ladd

Stonington W/F 04-29-15

Wequetequock FD was dispatched to 731 New London Turnpike in Stonington, for a garage fire. M/A was requested from Stonington Bro and North Stonington. Crews found a dwelling heavily involved on arrival. One exposure was damaged from the heat of the fire. NFI.

Hartford 3rd Alarm 04-16/17-15

Hartford fire worked this 3rd alarm at 2604 Main St at 18:32 hours. Ladder 3 struck the 2nd on arrival with Car 2 striking the 3rd. Crews found the rear porches fully involved on one section of the OMD, extending into several floors. Crews worked this building for several hrs. NFI

Plainfield W/F + 04-16-15

Around 14:30 Plainfield w/MA was dispatched to 246 Spaulding Road. For a Barn fire. First due found the barn 75% involved with fire spreading though the woods to the North. The blaze started with a lawnmower fire and spread to the barn and north into the forest, burning for 6 to 8 acres. Command requested extra tankers, two engines and brush truck above the working fire assignment for the brush fire. CT DEEP was requested for the brush fire also. Crews worked the brush fire for a few hrs. One injury has been reported to an occupant from the home.

Scotland 2nd Alarm 04-14-15

Around 08:30 at 49 Devotion Rd, Scotland fire and M/A was dispatched for a reported house fire. First due officer found a active fire to the rear of the dwelling, a 2nd alarm was transmitted. The fire spread rapidly through the home built in the 1800s. Crews worked the build for about 2 hrs to bring the fire under control. The FM is investigating the cause.

Westerly RI, W/F 04-10-15

Around 10:30, Westerly fire worked this residential house fire at 53 Beatrice Ave. Fire consumed the A-D corner. NFI 




Hartford 2nd Alarm 04-10-15

 2nd alarm in Hartford, Ct at 03:30 hours. The fire was in the basement of 66-68 Westbourne Pkwy and extended up.
