I welcome you to my blog site; I hope to show you the fire service in NLC in some interesting events. During the next few years, I will improve on the content and photos to keep you coming back for more. I take pride in my photography and try my best to be first in when possible. The majority of the photos will be from the Norwich companies & surrounding area departments, but sometimes I Buff out of state cities for a change of pace.



As of late I have missed or worked a lot of the incidents. I have a great support group of Photographers to help the site keep up with all the incidents. There are too many to list, So thanks for your support. Thanks for visiting and enjoy .RD Ladd

Plainfield Multi alarm. 12-13-15

Plainfield with multiple fire departments was dispatched to 155 Weston Rd. For a house fire. First due found a large frame dwelling with heavy fire conditions. With no water supply several thousand ft of supply line was laid, and about 16 tankers were used to supply water to several aerial devices to fight this fire. Companies worked this incident for several hours. The fire is under investigation.

Lebanon Ct Barn fire 12-08-15

Around 13:30 Lebanon Fire and M/A was dispatched to 521 Tobacco Street, for a Barn fire. First due officer reported a working fire in a 30x40 barn. Crews worked for several hours to extinguish the blaze. A tanker shuttle was set up for water supply with about 1000' foot lay up the driveway. The fire is under investigation.

Vernon 2nd Alarm 11-12-15

Vernon fire worked this 2nd alarm at 94 High St, at 1115 hours.

Glastonbury, General Alarm 11-11-15

Glastonbury fire struck a  general alarm  for a fire in a commercial building at 32 Roaring Brook Plaza at 1132 hours. This building housed numerous businesses and was occupied at the time of the fire. At least 10 mutual aid departments assisted at the scene or covered the stations. Companies were on scene for at least 14 hrs.

New London 2nd Alarm 10-03-15 (Delayed)

 New London Fire transmitted a 2nd Alarm for 61 Summer St for heavy fire on 2nd floor of 2.5 story

Old Lyme W/F+ 10-27-15

Old Lyme fire with M/A responded to 62 Grassy Hill Road, first due Officer on scene reporting a porch fire. NFI 




Taftville W/F 10-16-15

Taftville and Occum Firefighters responded to a multifamily house fire on Terrace Avenue in the Taftville section of town around 1:30 a.m. When they arrived, firefighters saw heavy smoke and fire in the basement. The fire was confined in a few minutes. A suspect has been arrested in connection with this fire. NFI
