First In






I welcome you to my blog site; I hope to show you the fire service in NLC in some interesting events. During the next few years, I will improve on the content and photos to keep you coming back for more. I take pride in my photography and try my best to be first in when possible. The majority of the photos will be from the Norwich companies & surrounding area departments, but sometimes I Buff out of state cities for a change of pace.



As of late I have missed or worked a lot of the incidents. I have a great support group of Photographers to help the site keep up with all the incidents. There are too many to list, So thanks for your support. Thanks for visiting and enjoy .RD Ladd

Canterbury 2nd Alarm. 03-09-17

Canterbury Fire and M/A was dispatched to 40 Brooklyn RD, for a reported house fire. First due, found heavy fire from the living room area, fanned by high winds, with fire entering the bedrooms. Crews knocked the heavy fire down in a short time. One side of the roof collapsed. For the next hr crews worked to overhaul and extinguish the hot-spots. Tanker Taskforce was used for shuttle operations. The Fire is under investigation.

Bozrah Tree on car.

Mid afternoon on March 2, 2017 Gardner Lake & American Medics came across a Tree on a car on Rt-163 in Bozrah, while transporting a patient. Due to transporting GLFD redirected after calling dispatch and requesting Bozrah Fire Department to respond for a uninjured occupant that needed to be freed from the SUV. The American chase car stayed with the occupant of the car until, Bozrah Fire arrived. Once they arrived the crew used chainsaws to cut the limbs and branches away from the drivers door. Once the the door was freed, they waled the occupant out of the hazard zone to safety. In total 5 trees came down at once, 3 covered the SUV.

New London W/F03-04-17

New London Fire operated at  47 Summer Street, crews encountered heavy fire on the 2nd floor of the dwelling. Crews brought the fire under-control in a short time. The fire is under investigation.
