First In






I welcome you to my blog site; I hope to show you the fire service in NLC in some interesting events. During the next few years, I will improve on the content and photos to keep you coming back for more. I take pride in my photography and try my best to be first in when possible. The majority of the photos will be from the Norwich companies & surrounding area departments, but sometimes I Buff out of state cities for a change of pace.



As of late I have missed or worked a lot of the incidents. I have a great support group of Photographers to help the site keep up with all the incidents. There are too many to list, So thanks for your support. Thanks for visiting and enjoy .RD Ladd

Norwich 2nd Alarm + 05-04-17

Around 14:00 Norwich Fire was Dispatched to 50 Freeman Ave for a fire in an OMD. Crews found a fire on the first floor, Fire self vented as crews entered and with a slight wind condition,The fire intensified fast. Command requested a 2nd Alarm. Crews worked this fire for about 20 minutes, until conditions worsened. At this point Operations and Command decided to withdraw all companies, The worked the building with several hand-lines to knockdown visible fire. A report of a missing occupant truck 1 was directed to search the 3rd floor. As they searched conditions on the 2nd floor worsened, Truck 1 crew was ordered out of the building, Do to fire venting out below them on the rear porch, the FAST went to make sure they made it down before they where cut off. Command ordered crews out of the building, till it was brought under control later in the afternoon. The fire is under investigation
