Uncasville section of Montville. W/F 05-17-22

 Around 12 noon. Mohegan Tribal fire and M/A was dispatched to 134-1 Ft Shantok Rd., for a fire in a mobile home. Engine 1 arrived to find fire showing from 50% of the homes windows. Eng 1s crew began fire attack, Mohegan fire M-11 arrived and supplies water to Eng 1 and Tribal, Eng 2set up to lay to a water supply. East Great Plain, tanker 51, aided with water supply, Norwich's Truck 1 supplies the Fast. 

The Home sustained heavy damage, The FMO is investigating the incident.

New London Ct, 2nd Alarm++ 5-5-2022

 Mid afternoon, New London fire and M/A worked this fire at the Lighthouse Inn, at 5 Guthrie place, Fire was confined to the rear of the buildings, walls and void spaces. Crews worked to open up the spaces and bring the fire under control. A heavy M/A response was called due to the size of the building and past fire history. 43 years ago, a devastating fire burned most of the roof off.

New London Ct, 3rd alarm with extra call. 04-30-22

 New London Ct, 3rd alarm with extra call.Around 9:30am. Initial call was for 65 Fuller St for a dwelling fire, First due Battalion, found 2 Dwellings on fire. Engine 2 arrived and started fire attack, A 200 and Truck 2, followed. Command requested a 2nd alarm, then a General alarm. The street was a dead end and limited apparatus access to the street. A-1 requested a 3rd alarm fairly quick. The incoming engines, laid several supply lines into Fuller street. Due to high winds and a gas fed fire, conditions deteriorated and commanded evacuated the dwellings. During the defensive operations, a brush fire started across the street in the wooded area, command requested a extra alarm for this exposure fire. Crews worked for about a hour with the heavy fire conditions, as extra companies arrived and boosted the water pressure conditions improved. Heavy damage to 2 dwellings and about 1+ acres of woods burned. The fire in under investigation. My photos are about 30 mins into the incident.

Side B, Exposure building

Embers from the dwelling fires, started a small brush fire across the street to The High-rise housing, an Extra alarm was requested for this fire.

New London Ct, 2nd Alarm+ , 03-30-22

 Around 13:00: New London fire was dispatched to Roger and Elm for a building fire. Crews arrived to find heavy fire in the rear of the vacant dwelling with several exposure issues. Command struck a 2nd alarm. As crew worked the fire The full 2nd alarm was put to work and a 3rd Fast was requested. In about 20 mins the fire was under control. Most heavy damage, was to the rear of the dwelling. Some damage to exposures was noticed. M/A from the Subase, Jordan (Waterford), Poquonnock Bridge and Ems was Yale medics and Groton Ambulance.

Willimantic 2nd Alarm 03-22-22

 Around 9am Willimantic fire was dispatched to 1163 Main St for a building fire. All companies where on other calls, The truck and engine responded from Church St incident. The ambulance was tied up on a ALS ambulance run. Fire was found on the 2nd floor of a 3 story mixed occupancy, with reported jumpers and one person hangout of the window next to the fire.

 A passing roll off garbage truck was placed into service to back under the window so the occupant could jump to a closer object. The 2nd due truck, UCONN was directed to remove the injured person from the back of the truck. 

Willimantic arrived during this, with low staffing due to the other ambulance call, they placed a line is service helped with the rescues, and brought the fire under control as M/A companies arrived. The fire was confined to the 2nd floor apartment, Several people were transported. At this time NFI.

Franklin Ct, Car Fire 02-17-22

 Around 10am Franklin Fire was dispatched to 867 Rt-32 for several calls reporting a car fire next to a dwelling, Due to the information of possibly spreading to the dwelling, M/A was started. First arriving engine found a car fully involved with no exposure issue. Franklin and A engine from South Windham extinguished the fire.

 

Yantic W/F 02-09-22

 Around 20:25, Norwich fire dispatched Yantic and EGP L-5 to a reported commercial smoker on fire in a restaurant with occupants out of the building. First due found heavy dark smoke for the vents and smoke coming from the eves. Eng 31 arrived and stretched a line to the D side door, Once opened, the smoke was banked to the floor. Eng 33 laid in from the hydrant in front of Ace home center. Ladder 5 took the A side of the building. Eng 31 crew entered and found fire in the main area of the kitchen knocked it down and located the smoker and extinguished the fire in the smoker.

A 2nd alarm was placed in staging, once crews upped up, and knocked down any extension, command released the companies in Staging. Extensive damage was confined to the kitchen area.

Norwich and State FMO are investigating.

South Windham, 2nd alarm 01-27-22

 Around 20:00 Station K, Dispatched The Windham's with Willimantic and Yantic FAST to 337 South Windham Rd, for a building fire that could be see through the trees. First units on scene reported a working fire to the rear of the occupied dwelling. Fire Worked its way into the wall and cock-loft area on the 1800s addition, crews worked for about an hour and half to bring the fire under control. The fire is under investigation.
