First In

I welcome you to my blog site; I hope to show you the fire service in NLC in some interesting events. During the next few years, I will improve on the content and photos to keep you coming back for more. I take pride in my photography and try my best to be first in when possible. The majority of the photos will be from the Norwich companies & surrounding area departments, but sometimes I Buff out of state cities for a change of pace.

As of late I have missed or worked a lot of the incidents. I have a great support group of Photographers to help the site keep up with all the incidents. There are too many to list, So thanks for your support. Thanks for visiting and enjoy .RD Ladd

Norwich 3rd Alarm 08-19-12

Around 11:35 Norwich Fire was dispatched in the area of Crescent St for several calls reporting a fire on the 2nd floor rear of the building. First due found heavy fire from the rear of 249 Broadway, a converted 1800s 5000+ sqf mansion, now an apartment building. The fire had already entered the 2nd and 3rd floor attic spaces. Several lines were stretched; Command (car-1) requested a 2nd Alarm. Crews worked several sections of the building as fire spread into several void spaces in 4 separate areas. The fire took hold of the attic and broke through the roof. 3rd alarm companies were requested into FG Staging for man-power. Command requested the evacuation tone and went defensive with 2 ladders. After the most pockets of fire were knocked down crews re-entered and knocked down the remaining hot spots.
