First In






I welcome you to my blog site; I hope to show you the fire service in NLC in some interesting events. During the next few years, I will improve on the content and photos to keep you coming back for more. I take pride in my photography and try my best to be first in when possible. The majority of the photos will be from the Norwich companies & surrounding area departments, but sometimes I Buff out of state cities for a change of pace.



As of late I have missed or worked a lot of the incidents. I have a great support group of Photographers to help the site keep up with all the incidents. There are too many to list, So thanks for your support. Thanks for visiting and enjoy .RD Ladd

Manchester's 8th Utilty District, 12-30-08

Manchester, ( 8th district) responded to 159 Woodland St at 0000 hrs. arriving units found an 1 1/2 story cape cod privet dwelling with the fire in the rear enclosed porch. FF's made a quick knock-down.

Training photos never posted. 2008

The photos below are from a week long training session held in Yantic at the old Rena's Pizza on West Town St in June. Several evolution stations were in place for this event. Several forcible entry, Ventilation, Search, Hose line advance and placement, VES, and Self rescue. During the week several department attend. Besides all having a good time, they all left with a good hand on experience that some never were able to experience in any other training state or local.

Franklin 3rd Alarm 12-09-08

Around 10pm Franklin fire was dispatched to 21 Thompson Rd a duplex, for a fully involved house fire, First officer on location found heavy fire on the 2nd floor. Crews attacked the fire but due to conditions and water supply were forced back out. As more companies arrived with tankers. Crews contained the fire and worked on wind feed hot spots for several hours. One occupant was transported for smoke inhalation. Departments the assisted were Lebanon, South Windham, Baltic, Bozrah and Mohegan tribe as Fast. (ok rizzo)

Hartford 2nd Alarm 10-09-08

Hartford fire responded to 56 Benton Street and found heavy smoke and fire showing. A 2nd alarm was requested. Its reported as a basement fire that traveled thew the walls and attic. A firefighter inspects the exterior of the building



Extreme Stand-by 12-09-08

24-7 Fire protection and BLS coverage at Extreme Home site is being provided by several departments from New London County, Along with ALS from American ambulance. The regional IMT is on site for control of event in the production area. Voluntown asked for assistants for the coverage time. Many department have offered there support. Crew are tasked with site metering, Fire and EMS. Yantic members metering the building for Co. Filming an segment Eng-33 be fore leaving the site.
