I welcome you to my blog site; I hope to show you the fire service in NLC in some interesting events. During the next few years, I will improve on the content and photos to keep you coming back for more. I take pride in my photography and try my best to be first in when possible. The majority of the photos will be from the Norwich companies & surrounding area departments, but sometimes I Buff out of state cities for a change of pace.



As of late I have missed or worked a lot of the incidents. I have a great support group of Photographers to help the site keep up with all the incidents. There are too many to list, So thanks for your support. Thanks for visiting and enjoy .RD Ladd

Montville (Oakdale) W/F 11-28-12

Montville and KX dispatch centers received several calls about a house fire on the town line around Dusk. Both dispatch centers started area departments. Once on scene the fire was found to be in Montville. Heavy fire was showing and the tanker task-force was requested, Crews worked this fire for several Hrs. This home is the location of several suspicious fires this year. State and Local FMOs is investigating.

Pawcatuck, Garage fire 11-28-12

Pawcatuck fire was dispatched to 332 Liberty St, for a reported garage fire, First due found fire showing from a large privet garage behind the residents. Crews had the fire under control in a short time.














Westerly, RI W/F 11-28-12

 Early morning fire in Westerly, RI fire appears to have extended from the basement too the attic. Crews worked the fire for a few hrs. M/A from Dunns Conners and Pawcatuck CT.



 








Glastonbury Car fire 11-26-12

Glastonbury fire responded to 969 Hebron Ave. about 08:00 of a car fire.

Glastonbury 2nd Alarm 11-14-12

Glastonbury, was dispatched to 205 Great Swamp Rd , for a reported  chimney fire. The fire broke out and extended into the home before FD arrival. Command requested a 2nd alarm. NFI

 




Detroit Still Alarm, 1901 Davison 10-28-12

  At 04:20, While parked down the street at Burger King, one of the group noticed what looked like a column of stream coming from a building. After a minute or two we noticed a flicker and decided it was a fire. As we left the lot a PD car drove past and and got to the location before us. They turned around and called as we pulled up, it turned out to be a small Bus fire between two buildings. The location was 1901 Davison. About 10 minutes later the Still was dispatched, the engine arrived within a few minutes and knocked down the fire, No extension into the building due to cinder-block wall construction.







Detroit Box Alarm, Kirkwood 10-27-12

 Detroit fire, Dispatched a single engine for check for fire Addison & Kirkwood at 17:15 they found a 1.5 story dwelling with fire showing from the attic. Requesting the Box. In about 10 mins the fire was under control.

Detroit Box Alarm, 11630 Cloverdale. 10-27-12

 Around 17:30 Detroit fire Dispatched E-34 for a check for fire in the area of Cloverdale and Burlingame. Local Companies were operating at a dryer fire. Fire minutes before we drove past this block, nothing visible at that time. Chief 4 cleared the dryer fire and headed over to the fire as companies cleared from the dryer fire, E-34 was returned. Chief 4 Arrived to find a 1story commercial building going! Asked for a working aerial. Heavy fire was showing from two windows as companies arrived. 2nd Due Engine dumped their monitor as 1st due stretched. Once the truck and Squad arrived the opened up the overhead door and roof. the fire was knocked down in about 15 mins.
