First In






I welcome you to my blog site; I hope to show you the fire service in NLC in some interesting events. During the next few years, I will improve on the content and photos to keep you coming back for more. I take pride in my photography and try my best to be first in when possible. The majority of the photos will be from the Norwich companies & surrounding area departments, but sometimes I Buff out of state cities for a change of pace.



As of late I have missed or worked a lot of the incidents. I have a great support group of Photographers to help the site keep up with all the incidents. There are too many to list, So thanks for your support. Thanks for visiting and enjoy .RD Ladd

East Hampton, Mill Fire 05-26-12



At 2340 East Hampton Fire responded to 4 Bevin Blvd for a fire in the Bevin Bell factory. The building was well involved on arrival. This company has been in business for 179 years. This will be a bad for the local economy. About one hour into the fire the area residents and firefighters were evacuated from the immediate vicinity due to the fire starting to involve propane tanks. At least one exploded. Mutual aid from many departments (25+) assisted at the scene and for coverage.

New Britain, 2nd Alarm 05-24-12

At 10:45  the New Britain Fire responded to 132 Oak St for a building fire. Car 3 reported heavy smoke showing on arrival followed shortly by the 2nd alarm. Fire was located in the basement of this vacant 3 story brick with colliers mansion conditions. The fire traveled the walls breaking out on floor 3 and through the roof. Hartford and West Hartford covered the New Britain stations.

Blue Hills W/F 05-16-12

At 22:25 hours the Blue HIlls FD (Bloomfield, Ct.) responded to the area of 65 Tyler St for a car fire. On arrival they had heavy fire showing from a house due to a car driving through the front wall after taking down a tree. The car was fully inside the house and the driver was outside. Mutual aid from Bloomfield and Windsor FD's assisted at the scene with other mutual aid companies covering the stations.

Boston 2nd Alarm 05-07-12

Boston fire worked this 2nd alarm at 21-23 Dean St. NFI







Vernon 2nd Alarm 05-03-12

On a very rainy night at 01:59 hours Vernon, Fire. had this 2nd alarm on arrival at 39 Oakmoor Dr. 








Ellington 2nd alarm 04/29/12

Ellington fire was dispatched to 27 Abbott Rd for a house fire. Heavy fire conditions was found on arrival a 2nd alarm was called for around 1245 hours. Mutual aid assisted at the house and fought the large brush fire that stated as a result of the house fire.

Preston W/F 05-03-12

Poquetanuck & Preston City was dispatched to 27 Harris Fuller RD. for a fully involved house. First due confirmed the report. With in 15 minutes of the reporting call the home was destroyed, It been reported that the home was vacant. The fire is under investigation.
