First In






I welcome you to my blog site; I hope to show you the fire service in NLC in some interesting events. During the next few years, I will improve on the content and photos to keep you coming back for more. I take pride in my photography and try my best to be first in when possible. The majority of the photos will be from the Norwich companies & surrounding area departments, but sometimes I Buff out of state cities for a change of pace.



As of late I have missed or worked a lot of the incidents. I have a great support group of Photographers to help the site keep up with all the incidents. There are too many to list, So thanks for your support. Thanks for visiting and enjoy .RD Ladd

Norwich W/F 08-23-13

Norwich Fire was dispatched to 56 N Main St. via a Norwich Police Officer reporting smoke coming from the residence, with the possibility of people still inside. The officer gained entry and found an occupant getting ready to jump out the window. The officer guided the male occupant to safety. Engine 2 arrived and found a kitchen fire to the rear of the building. The fire was under control in a short time and is under investigation.

New London, General Alarm 08/21/13

New London Fire was dispatched to 128 State St for several reports of a building fire with alarm sounding. Smoke was showing from the 4th floor of an 4 story brick apartment building. Crews found an active fire in one apartment, during the search they found the fire had extended to the cock-loft and roof area, over the next few hrs a 2nd, 3rd and a general alarm was transmitted. Several M/A departments responded to the fire and covered the city and surrounding towns. Several firefighter were treated for minor injuries and heat related problems. The crews worked the void and roof spaces for several hours to locate all the hot spots. The fire is under investigation.
