First In

I welcome you to my blog site; I hope to show you the fire service in NLC in some interesting events. During the next few years, I will improve on the content and photos to keep you coming back for more. I take pride in my photography and try my best to be first in when possible. The majority of the photos will be from the Norwich companies & surrounding area departments, but sometimes I Buff out of state cities for a change of pace.

East Hartford, Ct's new Marine 1

East Hartford, Ct's new Marine 1. I was invited to take the maiden voyage today on the Connecticut River. The boat is 26' long with a beam of 8'-6" and a draft of 13". Front of boat has a ramp and both sides of the boat have a door that folds down into the water to gain access. The doors have a ladder in them to assist getting into the boat. The deck gun will deliver 350 GPM. The winch can be mounted on either side of the boat. The boat has guages that tell you how deep the water is, the temp of the water, compass heading and speed at which you are traveling. Rides pretty smooth at 37 MPH for a flat bottom boat.
