First In

I welcome you to my blog site; I hope to show you the fire service in NLC in some interesting events. During the next few years, I will improve on the content and photos to keep you coming back for more. I take pride in my photography and try my best to be first in when possible. The majority of the photos will be from the Norwich companies & surrounding area departments, but sometimes I Buff out of state cities for a change of pace.

As of late I have missed or worked a lot of the incidents. I have a great support group of Photographers to help the site keep up with all the incidents. There are too many to list, So thanks for your support. Thanks for visiting and enjoy .RD Ladd

Lisbon 2nd Alarm 05-13-09

Lisbon Fire was dispatched to 76 Sullivan Rd around14:40 pm along with Occum and Taftville "FAST TEAM" and Canterbury for a reported structure fire. A youth reported smoke in the building unable to enter. On arrival a working fire was declared in a 28'x40' ranch style house, heavy fire was showing at the front and rear doors of the building. This brought a call for tankers from Griswold and Plainfield. With the 1st floor burned through an exterior attack was the only option and the fire eventually made its way through the roof. The family dog and cat perished in the blaze, as well as most of the contents in the house were lost. The American Red Cross was on scene to assist the family, as well as the Lisbon FMO whom is working on the cause.
