First In






I welcome you to my blog site; I hope to show you the fire service in NLC in some interesting events. During the next few years, I will improve on the content and photos to keep you coming back for more. I take pride in my photography and try my best to be first in when possible. The majority of the photos will be from the Norwich companies & surrounding area departments, but sometimes I Buff out of state cities for a change of pace.



As of late I have missed or worked a lot of the incidents. I have a great support group of Photographers to help the site keep up with all the incidents. There are too many to list, So thanks for your support. Thanks for visiting and enjoy .RD Ladd

New London 2nd Alarm 03-27-12

New London fire responded to Tinker Court for several call of a house fire. Battalion 1 transmitted the working fire, crews found heavy fire conditions in the basement extending up thew the home. A 2nd alarm was transmitted, Adding Subase Fast, Do to fire conditions Subase was put to work adding Mohegan Tribal Fast. After a short time the fire was brought under control.




West Hartford 2nd Alarm 03-24-12

West Hartford fire responded to 117 Oakwood Ave. at 03:55 hours. A 2nd Alarm was transmitted, Mutual aid from Hartford to the scene and Newington and Hartford covered the stations.

Norwich 3rd alarm 03-26-12

Norwich fire responded to the area of Boswell and Oak for multiple calls for a building fire around 01:00. On arrival of Battalion 1, he found one building had heavy fire showing with 4 exposures and 2 of them starting to burn. They set up for exposure protection. After the arrival of Car 1, a 2nd alarm was transmitted.  After a short time 3rd alarm companies were brought into the fire. In all Two buildings were destroyed, One was heavily damaged, Two may of suffered minor/moderate damage. The fire is under investigation by NFMO, CSPFMO and Norwich PD.

Norwich W/F 03-22-12

Norwich fire was informed of a working fire in a 2.5 story home at 124 Laurel Hill Ave by Norwich Emergency manager as he was driving by. Engine 2 and Battalion 1 was first due and found fire showing from the rear from a 2nd floor porch spreading into the attic space of a group home. They placed a line in operation to the rear staircase and the truck crew laddered the building to vent. In a few minutes the main body of fire was knocked down as the home was searched and overhauled. The fire is under investigation by Norwich FMO. Update: This fire has Been Ruled as a ARSON fire.

Chesterfield 2nd Alarm 03-17-12

Montville companies responded in the Chesterfield district for a reported house fire at 46 Old Colchester Rd Ext. Fire was reported showing from the building at that time a 2nd Alarm for tankers was requested. Fire looked to be confined to the chimney area. The fire was placed under control in a short time. (NOTE: A 2nd fire was active at this residents about 20hrs later) Both fires are under investigation.

Montville 2nd Alarm+ 03-15-12

Oakdale, Chesterfield and Montville responded to 19 John W Luty Drive for a house fire. First due found heavy fire showing and requested a 2nd Alarm w/tankers. The occupants escaped before the fire was reported and stated on the news the ceilings were coming down behind them. As home became heavily involved extra tankers were called. The home was a destroyed and the fire is under investigation.


Manchester W/F 03-15-12

Manchester fire responded to 100 E. Center St. at 04:30 hours. They found fire coming from one unit on the first floor, of a motel/ rooming-house. One resident was transported to the local hospital with burn injuries. NFI

Rocky Hill 2nd Alarm, 02-28-12

Rocky Hill fire responded to this 2nd alarm at1340 hours at 12 Dogwood Lane. Mutual aid from Wethersfield and Cromwell assisted at the scene. 







East Hartford W/F 02-28-12
