First In






I welcome you to my blog site; I hope to show you the fire service in NLC in some interesting events. During the next few years, I will improve on the content and photos to keep you coming back for more. I take pride in my photography and try my best to be first in when possible. The majority of the photos will be from the Norwich companies & surrounding area departments, but sometimes I Buff out of state cities for a change of pace.



As of late I have missed or worked a lot of the incidents. I have a great support group of Photographers to help the site keep up with all the incidents. There are too many to list, So thanks for your support. Thanks for visiting and enjoy .RD Ladd

Scotland 2nd alarm 11-21-14

Scotland Fire along with M/A was dispatched to 74 Kemp RD, for a reported house fire. Around 09:15 first due reported smoke from the rear of the home and then quickly requested an 2nd Alarm. the first line crew faced heavy fire from the garage and living space above it. The main body of fire was knocked down in about 20 mins. Crews worked hotspots for a while.

Hartford 2nd Alarm 11/14

Hartford fire, responded to 22-24 Hamilton St. at 1925 hours for a report of a fire on floors 2 & 3. A second source reported people trapped. Engine 15 reported a working fire on their arrival. District 1, struck the 2nd alarm on his arrival. One child was rescued and transported to the hospital along with a firefighter and police officer. Very soon after companies arrived they had a partial collapse of the rear and floors 2 & 3 of the B side. Fire also extended to the D side exposure along with numerous cars and trees in the rear yard. Three tower ladders were put to work along with numerous landlines.

Lisbon W/F 11-05-14

Lisbon fire responded to (Route 12) 543 River Rd. with M/A from Taftville and Yantic FAST. For a house fire, first due found heavy fire in a vacant home around 04:15. M/A tankers were requested for water supply. Crews knocked the fire down from a defensive positions in a short time. The cause is under investigation, and there were no injuries.
