First In






I welcome you to my blog site; I hope to show you the fire service in NLC in some interesting events. During the next few years, I will improve on the content and photos to keep you coming back for more. I take pride in my photography and try my best to be first in when possible. The majority of the photos will be from the Norwich companies & surrounding area departments, but sometimes I Buff out of state cities for a change of pace.



As of late I have missed or worked a lot of the incidents. I have a great support group of Photographers to help the site keep up with all the incidents. There are too many to list, So thanks for your support. Thanks for visiting and enjoy .RD Ladd

Franklin, vehicle fire 12-21-20

Mid-day Franklin Fire was dispatched to Rt-87 for a Vehicle fire. Bozrah fire was requested M/A, Et-126 found a fully involved SUV, w/exposures.  A 13/4 was stretched and brought the fire under control.

Stonington Borough, 3rd Alarm Boat fire 12-20-12

Around 10:45 Stonington Borough responded to Dodson Boat Yard, Marina Storage for a boat fire, After a short time 4 boats were involved. Crews worked this fire for about two hours, 4-5 Boats destroyed or damaged. More info will be posted once I get it.

Laurel Hill 2nd Alarm 12-17-12

Laurel Hill was dispatched around 5:am to 495 Laurel Hill Rd. Building 12 Apt. C reporting a building fire. Several calls were received. The PD arrived and found fire coming from the rear A/C unit in the window. Car 6 requested a 2nd alarm. Crew placed a 13/4 line into operation and others searched the apartment building. The fire was knocked down in a short time, the occupant was transported for injuries. The FMO is investigating the incident.

East Great Plain 2nd Alarm+ 12-07-12

About 04:00 EGPFD was dispatched to 206 Dudley St for a structure fire, before arrival the NPD unit reported a working fire. The PD officers found one occupant out front stating a 2nd occupant was still on the 2nd floor. The officer(s) made entry and found the occupant on the floor and pulled him to safety as the first units arrived. Fire was showing on from the middle of the "D" side of the apartment. Crews made entry and knocked down the first room. The fire extended from the primary room and jumped to the attic space. Crews worked to contain the fire for over a Hr. Crew remained on scene for several hr, for overhaul and investigation. Two occupants are being treated for injuries. Norwich and State FMOs are investigating the Fire.

Lisbon W/F 12-02-12

Lisbon Fire was dispatched around 10:05 to 41 Preston Allen Rd. The found a active kitchen fire. M/A was requested. Crew knocked down the fire in a short time. The fire is under investigation.



Occum W/F 12-01-12

Around 10:00 Occum & Yantic was dispatched to 763 Scotland Rd. (NorwichTown, Pet Resort ) for a fire in the kennel.  While en-rout Taftville was added along with a few Tankers. Car -2 arrived and reported smoke showing from the rear of the building. First due engine stretched a hand-line and knocked down the fire in the ceiling.  No injuries to occupant and pets were reported. 




East Hartford W/F 11-30-12

East Hartford was dispatched to 34 Amy Dr. for a house fire. Crews found a Kitchen fire. 
 @1804 hrs.

Montville (Oakdale) W/F 11-28-12

Montville and KX dispatch centers received several calls about a house fire on the town line around Dusk. Both dispatch centers started area departments. Once on scene the fire was found to be in Montville. Heavy fire was showing and the tanker task-force was requested, Crews worked this fire for several Hrs. This home is the location of several suspicious fires this year. State and Local FMOs is investigating.

Pawcatuck, Garage fire 11-28-12

Pawcatuck fire was dispatched to 332 Liberty St, for a reported garage fire, First due found fire showing from a large privet garage behind the residents. Crews had the fire under control in a short time.
