First In






I welcome you to my blog site; I hope to show you the fire service in NLC in some interesting events. During the next few years, I will improve on the content and photos to keep you coming back for more. I take pride in my photography and try my best to be first in when possible. The majority of the photos will be from the Norwich companies & surrounding area departments, but sometimes I Buff out of state cities for a change of pace.



As of late I have missed or worked a lot of the incidents. I have a great support group of Photographers to help the site keep up with all the incidents. There are too many to list, So thanks for your support. Thanks for visiting and enjoy .RD Ladd

Norwich,3rd Alarm 10-30-16

Norwich Fire was dispatched around 17:00, 401 North Main St. Kleemann Auto for a reported fire in the building, Eng 2 which is about 400' up the road reported heavy smoke coming from the building, and dropped a feeder into the rear of the building. A 2nd alarm was requested, with a 2nd tower requested. Heavy fire broke threw the roof and caused a quick collapse of the South East end of the work bay, Crews worked the fire and command called 3rd alarm. After about a hour, the fire was darkened down, and crew worked to extinguish the stubborn pockets of fire. Crews remained on the scene for several hours for overhaul. 
Norwich investigation unit is on scene.

Norwich W/F+ 10-24-16

Around 18:00 Norwich Fire was dispatched to the Vacant YMCA on Main St.for white smoke coming from the roof. The PD arrived first and reported heavy smoke from the 2nd floor, and stating a active fire. A short time later Battalion 1, confirmed a working fire. Crews gained entry and laddered the building. SQA reported a active fire on the 2nd floor, The truck company vented the upper floor. With in a short time, the fire was under control, with extensive overhaul. Mohegan tribe was called fast, and Eng 52 and Rescue 5 was added to assignment. Norwich FMO & PD are investigating this incident.
