First In






I welcome you to my blog site; I hope to show you the fire service in NLC in some interesting events. During the next few years, I will improve on the content and photos to keep you coming back for more. I take pride in my photography and try my best to be first in when possible. The majority of the photos will be from the Norwich companies & surrounding area departments, but sometimes I Buff out of state cities for a change of pace.



As of late I have missed or worked a lot of the incidents. I have a great support group of Photographers to help the site keep up with all the incidents. There are too many to list, So thanks for your support. Thanks for visiting and enjoy .RD Ladd

Bozrah, truck Fire 04-29-17

Around 1pm, Bozrah Fire was dispatched for a reported garbage truck fire a 33 Stock house Road. Before arrival, A updated report of a fully involved truck was reported and one engine from Yantic was requested.  Upon arrival first due found just the cab of the garbage truck involved. Crews had the fire knocked down in a few minutes.

Lisbon Trailer fire 04-21-17

Lisbon Fire responded to I-395 NB for a 40' box trailer heavily involved in fire.



Norwich W/F 04-20-17

Norwich fire dispatched City companies to 27 McKinley Ave., around 8:20 a.m. Companies found a 2.5 story OMD with a active fire on the first floor, of a 4 unit converted apartment building. Crews entered the apartment and while operating found a occupant and removed him, FD and American treated him, and transported him to WW Backus hospital, He was transferred to Bridgeport Hospital. The fire was confined to a first floor apartment and under control in 15 minutes.

New London 2nd Alarm 04-18-17

New London fire was dispatched around 07:20 for a fire in an apartment building. A-1 arrived and found heavy smoke to the rear of the building. once A-1 investigated he found one apartment heavily involved. Companies arrived and went to work stretching a 13/4 hand=line to knock the main body of fire down while a search of the building was ordered, Crew assisted several occupants out of the building to safety. The fire was under control in about 10 mins.






Manchester 2nd Alarm 04-12-17

2nd alarm in Manchester at 0354 hours. Dispatchers started receiving calls from drivers passing by on interstate 84 reporting smoke from a building. First due Engine 5 arrived to heavy smoke showing from a 1 story 75 X 150 package store. Car 22 (shift commander) arrived and struck the 2nd with an additional engine and ladder above the 2nd to the fire. They went defensive right away due to the building construction and amount of smoke/fire. Mutual aid from Manchester 8th District D and East Hartford assisted at the scene.
