Canterbury W/F 11-06-07

Canterbury Fire responded with Scotland and Baltic to 418 Water St., for a reported living room fire. On arrival they found heavy fire venting from 2 windows. Crews stretched in as they blitzed the front 2 windows. Crew made entry to the building and advanced three lines to the 1st, 2nd floor and basement. Crews vented and searched for hidden pockets of fire. The fire was under control in about 40mins. Taftville responded as RIT and Lisbon provided a ambulance.

Norwich 2nd Alarm 11-06-07

Norwich Fire responded to Golden and Dylan for multiple reports of a house on fire. Upon Engine#2s arrival they found heavy fire to the rear of the building, taking hold of the attic. At this time winds were over 20+ miles an hour . Crew stretched in and began searching all floors of the building. Fire extended to the 2nd floor and made its way to the basement. A 2nd alarm was requested by Car 1 and the following Cos came in, Tower 25, Eng's 21,22,61 later a special call for Eng 51,33 and R-5. Fire was located in walls and void spaces. Companies went defensive for a short time then made their way back in for final extinguishment.

North Stonington, double Fatal 10-29-07

Around 09:45 North Stonington fire responded to Rt-49 near Wyassup road for a car vs a pole, Resident reported that their houses shook from the crash. On arrival crews found a car with it passenger compartment rapped around the pole. Three occupants still entrapped. Rescue personnel found two occupants were DOA and a third was transported by Life Star to Hasbro Hospital. During this incident on RT-2 a 2nd MVA vs tree happened M/A was called to handle that incident.

East Lyme Muli Fatal MVA 11-02-07

Around 10:30 Flanders and Oswegatchie fire departments responded to I-95 in the area of Exit 80 to 75 for a rollover. First due companies found two TT-units with four cars shredded over about 1000' on the south bound lane at Exit-75. Several occupants still in their vehicles. The tanker of diesel was leaking heavily from the bottom rear. Crew searched the area for victims, They found 3 DOA, walking wounded and at least one still in the vehicle. A request for M/A for the Dep Foam trailers, Pfizer foam truck, Subase Haz-mat, Multiple companies from Niantic, Jordan,Cohanzie , Chesterfield. Tankers from various departments. L&M Medics and ambulance crews handled the injured and transport them to L&M and Backus. Haz-mat & Fire crews foamed and diked the leaking liquids as other crews were setting up booms in the near by waterways in case diesel makes its way into the river near by. Command requested The IMT team for scene support. Other known agencies were CSP, DEP,DOT, Coast Guard. At this time I-95 & the lower end of I-395 will be closed for at least 8-24 hours. Major backups on the side roads will be continuing, for hours. South of Exit 75 Diesel pours from the bottom of the tanker

Poquonnock Bridge Commecial Building 10-30-07

Poquonnock Responded to Doncasters on 835 Poquonnock RD for a fire in the building, while en rout crews noticed smoke coming from the building. A box pulse was transmitted which assigned Subase C-25, City of Groton G-15, Mystic 57, old mystic 67 for FAST, Groton ambulance and L&M Medics. Crews found a Magnesium shaving on fire. Crews had the

Taftville 2rd alarm 10-12-07

Taftville responded @16:18 to 292 Norwich Ave for a reported house fire. on arrival they found heavy fire venting from three windows on the "D" side. Command requested M/A from Occum, Yantic and Norwich for Eng-2. With in 30 mins the fire was under control.

East Great Plain Mattress fire 10-07-07

EGPFD responded to 197 Dudley St for a reported bedroom fire, First in unit reported light smoke coming from the building. After investigating they found a extinguished mattress fire. crews removed the mattress and vented the building.
