Taftville, Stove fire. 06-25-20

Norwich fire dispatched Taftville to 8 Nemczuk Dr for a kitchen fire, while en-rout M/A was requested from Occum and a engine from Yantic along with Mohegan Tribe's FAST. Fire Due found smoke showing from the home and E21 stretched in, A minor fire was found a extinguished. 

East Great Plan, W/F 06-25-20

Norwich Fire, Dispatched East Great Plan to Salem Turnpike for smoke and fire showing from the rear of a dwelling around 18:25. A 2nd alarm was requested before arrival, which added Norwich Truck 1, Engine 3 and Mohegan Tribe for FAST. Car 5 reported fire showing from the rear of a 1.5 story dwelling. Crews stretched a line to the rear and knocked down the fire, a search of the building found no extension to the inside of the dwelling. 

Taftville Trailer fire 05-17-20

Just before 22:00 Taftville fire was dispatched to 303 Mohegan Park Rd. Lot 22 for a mobile home fire. Norwich PD arrived to find fire showing from the D side of the dwelling. Taftville fire ET 21 stretched in and knocked down the fire on the outside of the mobile home and exposure shed. The fire was under control in about 5 mins. Two additional engines from Yantic and Occum along with Mohegan Tribe responded.

Norwich, W/F 5/4/20

The City of Norwich was dispatched to 104 Boswell Ave for a reported structure fire, Crews arrived with nothing showing. Crews made entry to the building to find active fire in the walls, crews opened up and brought the fire under control, in about 15 min. The FMO is investigating.

Griswold Working fire, 03-25-20

Around 12:45 Griswold and M/A was dispatched to 10 Beach Drive for a reported shed fire. ET-55 arrived to find a 10x15 shed and the B side of a home involved with fire. A working fire was declared and at that time, a request for a tanker task-force. First due crews knocked the main-body of fire down, and worked on the hot spots for about an hr. The FMO is investigating the incident.

Bozrah MVA w/pin 03-03-20 (Delayed)

Bozrah fire and auto aid from East Great Plan fire, was Dispatched around 07:15 for a reported MVA with rollover, at (Rt-82) Salem Turn pike and Nobel Hill. Crews found a two 2 vehicle accident with two pined, one in each car. Rescue 5 worked the rollover vehicle and Bozrah worked the mini-Van. At least one occupant has serious injuries, both were transported to Backus Hospital, by Bozrah and American Ambulances. CSP and Norwich Police Department responded.

Yantic Fire Engine Company #1 Engine 31

Yantic Fire Engine Company, Placed into service a 2019 Pierce Enforcer pumper, 2000 GPM, This will replace a 1979 CF Mack 1500 GPM pumper.

 

Norwich, 2nd Alarm 02-20-20

Norwich Fire dispatched the city of Norwich to Cliff St for smoke coming from the building. First due transmitted a working fire, in a 2.5 story dwelling. 

Montville, W/F in a Commecrial Building. 02-18-20

Montville companies responded to 310 Rt 163 Bragdons Auto (around 12noon), for a fire in the building, First due arrived to find a active fire in the building and transmitted the working fire. Crews knocked the fire down with tank water in a short time. NFI

Yantic, 2nd Alarm 02-06-2020

Just after mid-night, Yantic Fire was dispatched to 77 Clinton Ave for Structure fire. NPD arrived and reported heavy smoke from the 2nd floor of a converted barn into a engine repair company. car-38 arrived and transmitted a 2nd alarm, with and occupant out of the building, Fire was showing in the rear. First due engine 32, encountered a heavily involved 2nd floor living space. Engine 33, laid about 200' of 5in, from the hydrant, Taftville tower 25 arrived and took the front of the building for ventilation. Two 13/4 lines were stretched to the #2 floor and a 3rd was stretched to the rear for work on the exterior of the building. The fire was confined to the 2nd floor, M/A on scene was East great plains, Taftville, City of Norwich and Mohegan tribe for Fast. Bozrah, Occum and Laurel Hill covered the area. The FMO is investigating.
