I would like to thank you all again for visiting; in the next couple weeks this site will reach 40,000 hits not too bad for a local site. I would also like to thank all my support team, the early warning team for the heads up phone calls, My fellow fire buffs that send me their photos, with out all of them we all would miss a lot of the action. Lebanon house fire 07-12-07

Around Mid-night Lebanon responded to Hinkley Hill RD for a reported house fire. First in unit transmitted a W/F. The fire was contained in a short time.

Occum MVA , 07-07

Occum and Yantic responded to 395 SB between exit 82 & 83 for a one car rollover, Occum found a jeep on its roof with a Patient laying on the ground about 20ft away. American and Occum treated the PT and was transported to Backus.

Pawcatuck fatal fire 07-03-07

02:45am Pawcatuck fire responded to a reported smoke alarm, Dispatch received a 2nd call reporting a kitchen fire. On arrival of First Asst. Chief Kevin Burns was the first on scene and reported heavy smoke and fire. Several occupants escaped but one was unaccounted, crews attempted to search for the occupant but due to high heat they were pushed out. Crews made many attempts to locate the occupant but were unsuccessful. For full story and photos see the links attached. The photos are on the Suns web site. Occum/Yantic car fire - MVA 6-27-07

Occum / Yantic car accident with fire w/injuries, three occupants escaped the one car accident after it slammed into the center median flex rail, all with minor injuries, 395 NB was closed for approx. 45 mins. while the FD & PD cleaned things up. While returning Yantic was dispatched to a Truck Vs Motorcycle RT2 East bound. See photos two posts below.

Franklin, Tire truck fire. 06-28-07

Around 17:30hrs; Franklin fire was dispatched to Murphy Rd for a reported tuck fire w/extension to the building. MA from Bozrah and Baltic responded to assist. First in officer found the rear on a tire truck heavily involved, with no extension to the building. crews contained the fire to the rear bed of the truck. (It has been reported that the truck was traveling down Rt-32 with heavy fire in the rear.)

Yantic 2 & 32 another motorcycle accident 06-27-07

Returning from a MVA with fire, Yantic was dispatched to a motorcycle vs truck at exit 28 east bound, they found the bike in the middle of the road and the driver off to the side in the grass with non-life threatenings injuries. A truck towing a trailer, loss the trailer and debris entered the opposite lane and interfered with the travel of the bike,and the driver lost control. He was transported to Backus by American.

Truck Vs Motorcycle Fitchville Road 06-26-07

At 5:58 p.m Bozrah fire was dispatched to the area of 147 Fitchville Rd. for a rollover with possible entrapment. Upon arrival personnel were met with a head on crash between a pick-up truck and a motorcycle. The sole occupant of the pick-up was transported to the Backus Trauma Center with undisclosed injuries. The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced on scene by American Paramedics. Units held the scene for quite some time while the State Police investigated the crash. Yantic 2&32 Bike accident 06-19-07

Tuesday at 13:15 Yantic fire responded to 2&32 connector of a reported motor cycle accident in the area of exit 28. Crew found a male PT. laying up against the jersey barrier with his bike about 300+ft down the road. The PT. was treated by YFEC and American personnel and transported to Backus.

Norwich W/F Vacant @Tilton st. 06-07-07

About 23:20 Norwich fire was dispatched to the area of Dunken Donuts in Greenville section for a full involved house. After investigating Eng-2 reported the fire to be on Tilton St. in the rear of the old 701 club. They found a 1.5 story vacant house with heavy fire conditions on the outside front of the building. Crews streached a 2.5 and 1.75in handlines thought the yards to reach the building. The fire was knocked down in about 15mins and crews overhauled the building.

Lisbon W/F 2sty PD 05-30-07

Around 10:am Lisbon fire responded to Kinsman Rd. for a reported house fire. First in officer found smoke showing from the 2nd floor. crews from Lisbon and Occum knocked down the fire in several mins. Crews vented the 2nd floor and roof, then worked the void spaces hunting down pockets of fire with in the walls. Yantic, basement fire 1sty W/F PD 05-29-07

Monday afternoon, Yantic fire was dispatched to Huntington Ave., for a report of smoke coming from the basement. On arrival C-38 reported light smoke showing, Eng-32s crew streached in a 1 3/4 line and knocked down the fire, incoming companies vented the building with fans. Norwich FMO is investigating. Also reponding Mohegan FAST, NPD and American Ambulance.
