Willimantic 2nd alarm 04-09-08

Willimantic Fire responded to 184 Windham Rd for a apartment building fire. The building is a medium frame Victorian. A worker was working on the 3rd floor porch when he noticed fire in the eve area. The fire spread into the attic area and consumed parts of the roof. Crews reported that they could hear the fire roaring above their heads Truck co. opened up the roof to vent the heavy fire conditions in the void space. Crews confined the fire to the upper section of the building. The fire was under control less then 2 hours. Departments on scene Willimantic, South Windham, North Windham, Colombia Ambulance, UCONN and Windham Medics.
