First In

I welcome you to my blog site; I hope to show you the fire service in NLC in some interesting events. During the next few years, I will improve on the content and photos to keep you coming back for more. I take pride in my photography and try my best to be first in when possible. The majority of the photos will be from the Norwich companies & surrounding area departments, but sometimes I Buff out of state cities for a change of pace.

As of late I have missed or worked a lot of the incidents. I have a great support group of Photographers to help the site keep up with all the incidents. There are too many to list, So thanks for your support. Thanks for visiting and enjoy .RD Ladd

Around 8:20am Norwich Fire dispatched Eng.2,3, the Squad, Truck 1, & Bat.1 to 646 Boswell Ave., the Seafood Etc. store for a building fire, reported via radio by M-19-3. The Battalion Chief was advised that numerous "calls" were being received, and shortly after Eng.2 reported a working fire with heavy smoke showing from the eaves and roof line. Mohegan F.A.S.T. was started and lines were laid. An interior attack was started with a 2 1/2", and ventilation was in progress. After about a 1/2 hour chase via the interior ceiling and exterior cornice work the bulk of the overhead fire was knocked down, and a lengthy overhaul was started. E.G.P. , Yantic, and Laurel Hill were placed on standby and help at the scene was given by Taftville. A Co. of standby firefighters was latter requested to assist with mop-up, the fire remained under investigation.
