Around 02:25, Norwich Fire responded to the area of Norwich Free Academy for a house fire the location was not positive at first from multiple callers. As apparatus approach the area the correct address was received and crews arrived to find the fire located at 1 Coles Ct., With Heavy fire in the C-D section of the home. The occupants were out of the home when the FD and PD arrived. The fire had consumed a "L" shaped porch and was spreading to the main dwelling. Crews stretched several lines and vented the roof as the fire spread to the attic area. M/A engines from Taftville (ET-21) and Yantic (E-33) where requested by command. The fire was under control in about one hour, This fire accrued right after a severe storm passed through the area.
