Franklin, Ct. around 3am Franklin fire was dispatched to Pond Rd for wires down call, after arriving in the area 117 Pond Road, they discovered a building fire in the rear yard a large Commercial building on fire. Mutual aid was requested, as the fire intensified as companies arrived. A water supply via tankers was set up. The fire reached the propane tanks in the building and started to vent, the building had a large amount of chemicals, during this time, a large number of small and medium explosions accrued. Companies backed away from the building, just in time for one of the 30lbs tanks exploded and bounced off the rear of a tanker 200+' away. After the last explosion, crews regained control of the fire, they and worked for several hrs to bring the fire under-control. Local and State FMOs are investigating.
First In
I welcome you to my blog site; I hope to show you the fire service in NLC in some interesting events. During the next few years, I will improve on the content and photos to keep you coming back for more. I take pride in my photography and try my best to be first in when possible. The majority of the photos will be from the Norwich companies & surrounding area departments, but sometimes I Buff out of state cities for a change of pace.
