Franklin, Ct. around 3am Franklin fire was dispatched to Pond rd for wires down call, after arriving this the area 117 Pond Road, they discovered a building fire. they found in the rear a large Commercial building on fire. Mutual aid was requested, as the fire intensified as companies arrived. A water supply via tankers was set up. The fire reached the propane tanks in the building along with other items, an a large number of small and medium explosions accrued. Companies backed away from the build, just in time of one 30lbs tank exploded and bounced off the rear of a tanker 200+' away. after the last explosion, crews re started fire attack, and worked for several hrs to bring the fire under-control. Local and State FMOs are investigating.
